News24xx.com -  The company's original technology China, Baidu continues to develop autonomous car project for rivaling Google. Now, Project Apollo developed by Baidu gets support from Microsoft.


Reported by Carscoops on Wednesday, July 26 2017 Microsoft helped Baidu to develop and perfected the system of autonomous driving.


The Apollo project has involved over 50 companies, two thirds were from China and the rest from abroad.


Some of the major companies involved in the project including car manufacturer Chery Automobile and Great Wall Motors, as well as some global corporations such as Ford, Daimler, Bosch, Continental, ZF and Nvidia.


"Our Role is to provide a global scale for Apollo outside China with Microsoft Azure cloud. We run in 40 regions around the world, this is a reliable and secure cloud needed to ensure security around the autonomous vehicle," said Microsoft Vice President, Kevin Dallas.


Microsofft will provide connected vehicle servicesfor autonomous cars. Microsoft will look to expand this project to America and Europe.
