Hundred thousand of workers in UK are being watched over by artificial intelligence during their work hours

IllustrationIllustration - A number of companies in the UK today have used artificial intelligence to monitor their employees. AI is used to examine staff behavior minute by minute, by collecting data about to whom they send emails and who access them; and what they do during their worh hours.

At least 130 thousand people in the UK currently are being monitored in real time by the Isaak System. Designed by a London-based technology company called Status Today, this is the latest example of trends using algorithms to manage human resources.

However, as quoted by the Telegraph, on Monday, April 8th 2019, the use of this technology has drawn criticism from some circles because it is considered potentially causing distrust of the company and increasing stress on workers. This system shows the company bosses how collaborative the workers are and knows whether their staffs are 'influencers' or 'change makers'.

Status Today technology can compare activity data with a qualitative assessment of workers from personal files or sales performance figures to provide an overview at the manager level of how staff behavior influences work outcomes.
