The BBC said Johanna’s allergy was triggered by the smell of her husband, even though it was not a big problem when they were in they early marry period - at that time her allergy was not severe enough.

"We can't be in the same room because I'm allergic to him" she said. "Before this I had reacted to my parents, to many people, other people, but it was so terrible with Scott." The Genetic and Rare Diseases Information Center of the U.S. The National Institutes of Health explains that in immunological disorders, a subset of white blood cells called mast cells 'erroneously' release too many chemicals such as histamine, an inflammatory substance that the body uses to fight enemies such as viruses.

The results of these excess chemicals are some chronic symptoms involving the skin, digestive tract, heart, breathing, and neurological systems. "Symptoms include episodes of abdominal pain, cramps, diarrhea, redness, itching, wheezing, coughing, mild headaches and potential problems with 'brain fog' or other difficulties with memory" he explained, as quoted by the Medical Daily.
