News24xx.com - Liverpool made a dramatic comeback when getting rid of Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals. This continued the good record of the Reds with Juergen Klopp in European competition knockout phase. In condition where Liverpool was left behind with score 0-3, Liverpool have a tough task to turn the table against Barca. Moreover, they performed without their two forwards, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, who couldn’t be played due to injury.

However, once the semi-final second leg match started at Anfield on Wednesday, May 8th 2019, Liverpool broke all people predictions, and they managed to beat Barca with a score of 4-0. Winning 1-0 through Divock Origi's goal in the first half, Liverpool added couple of goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Origi's second goal.

Liverpool managed to advance to the final with a 4-3 aggregate advantage and will face against the winner of the match between Ajax Amsterdam against Tottenham Hotspur. For Klopp, this is his third final with the Reds after last season's Champions League and the 2016 Europa League.

Klopp also maintains his good record in the knockout phase of European competition. Since handling Liverpool, Klopp has never failed to pass a knockout phase. His record indeed is extraordinary because from the 20 matches that Liverpool have been played, Klopp only lost three and drew five times. While the remaining 12 matches ended with victory.

Now Klopp has at least a chance to erase bad memories of the two previous European competition finals. Because Klopp always failed in the final, first they were beaten by Sevilla in the Europa League and second from Real Madrid in the Champions League.
