News24xx.com - A 29-year-old woman in south China, identified by her surname Chen, has been sentenced to four years in prison for slapping a bus driver, after he charged her an extra 10p. She was convicted for endangering public safety by dangerous means.

A CCTV footage shows the incident, which happened at around 2 p.m. on December 27th. In the video, the woman is seen arguing heatedly with the driver, Fu Chuanming. She accused him of charging her the wrong fare and demanded a refund of 1 Yuan.

Chen lost her temper and yanked a small Chinese flag from the driver seat and threw it on to the floor. When he asked her to pick up the flag, she slapped him across the face while the bus was in motion. Chuanming then stopped the bus on the side of the road and called the police.

Chen was arrested on January 9th and was convicted on May 9th at Haikou Meilan People’s Court. Netizens think that it is a fair judgment.

“That is what you deserve for endangering the safety of other people!” a netizen commented.

“The sentence was heavier than I expected – but when I think about it, it’s reasonable. I just hope offenders of other crimes will get heavier sentences too,” another commented.

“Awesome! These people should be blacklisted from taking public transport!” another said.
