A dreadlocks head man being an Imam with melodious voice in North Maluku

News24xx.com -  Sofyan Alop suddenly became a conversation because of his melancholy voice when he led the prayer.

According to his testimony, he was often watching video when the Imam read the Holy Koran at YouTube. And he learned self-taught.

"I dont know due to natural talent or anything. After here, I listen YouTubeevery day always, I tried to followed their rhythm, but I try to use my own rhythm,"said Sofyan when talking with detikcom, Saturday July 29 2017.

He claims to be inspired by the sound of the great Imams such as the Imam of Masjidil Haram, Abdurrahman as-Al-Sudais, Anas Bourak, to Shaykh Misyari Rashid.

"I have my own characteristics, and collaborated withtheir sound. When it is time for prayers, usually use different tone for the first and the second rak’ahs. For example, during my first rak’ahs I used Abd al-Sudais tone and Shaykh Misyari Rashid tone in the secondrak'ah," said Sofyan.

In a video, Sofyan was leading the prayer in the second rak'ah of Maghrib. He recited Al Fatiha and Al-Jumuah. Sofyan said, the rhythm that he chant in the second rak'ah is his own creation results.

North Maluku Governor, Abdul Ghani Kasuba, amazed with melodious of Sofyan's voice. According to him, the Governor initially underestimated with him because of his appearance.
