News24xx.com - Emil Hvidtfeldt (24) had lived in Greendland for a year to study. The high case of depression and suicide that haunts the largest island in the world makes him moved to do something. Since April 2018, this man from Copenhagen, Denmark has begun a long and challenging journey. From Turku City, Finland, he roams the land routes to the end point in Jakarta, Indonesia just by bicycle.

Approximately 18,000 km were taken over the past year, across 26 countries on two continents. Extreme cold temperatures in the Himalayas that reach -20 degrees, and intense heat when crossing Southeast Asia, are referred to as one of the most difficult challenges. "Jakarta is indeed hot. But in Myanmar and Southern Thailand it is heavier, it’s hotter and humid there" said Emil, Central Jakarta, on Monday, May 13th 2019.

He arrived at Jakarta as his final destination on Wednesday, May 8th 2019. From the trip, he has succeeded in collecting donations totaling DKK 64.5 thousand which will be donated to the mental health of Greendland children. "The cities in Greendland are not interconnected. To go to school, children have to leave home and separate from parents from the age of 14-15 years" Emil said.
