News24xx.com - The fasting month definitely has an impact on our sleep hours. We have to wake up earlier to suhoor outside the natural rhythm hours. As a result, lack of sleep can occur and it is not pleasant. Sleep deprivation makes us lethargic and can interfere with mental and physical health.

"Eating before 4 am indeed can cause a chaos. As a result, it can have negative consequences on physical and mental health" said Dr. Walid Abdul-Hamid, a psychiatrist at Dubai's Priory Wellbeing Center, quoted from Mvslim.

Dr. Hady Jerdak, a specialist in pulmonary disease and sleeping pills at Medcare Hospital Dubai added, repeated sleep problems can be a way for the body to show something is wrong. Increased stress levels, changes in mood and anxiety are ways the body to tell us that the body has a sleep disorder.

"The opposite can also be, sleep problems can sometimes be an anxiety disorder. Lack of sleep weakens the immune system against the virus, increases the risk of suffering high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, as well as problems related to heart disease" he added.

Therefore Dr. Abdul-Hamid suggested sleeping and waking up at the same hour each day, whether it was earlier or later late than the usual bedtime before fasting, and avoid napping. Then, don't overeat before going to bed, he continued, and avoid fast and processed foods. These foods can have an impact on the quality of sleep. Then increase exposure to sunlight in the morning and reduce exposure to light at night to help the body's natural circadian rhythms.
