News24xx.com -  A 9-year-old boy of Napa, California worked hard at saving money in his piggy bank, but decided to give it all up for his classmates. According to reports, Ryan Kirkpatrick used his allowance in order to pay off the lunch debt for his entire third grade class.

After talking to his mother Kylie Kirkpatrick about how some students could not afford school lunches, he got inspired and the little one decided to help them out. He asked his mom about the amount that was owed by his fellow third-grade classmates at West Park Elementary School, and it came out to be Rs 5,171 ($74.5).

Kylie Kirkpatrick told said, "It was, I think, $74.5. So I took that email and came to Ryan and said, 'What do you want to do,' and he said, 'I guess I can pay for it.' And I said, 'Are you sure?' And he said, 'Yes.'"

Ryan planned to buy sports gear for himself with that money, but decided to give it up in order to pay for his friends' lunch, instead.

The school district policy says that students who have a negative lunch account will still receive a hot meal. Reports say, depending on income levels, elementary school meals range in price from .30 cents to $3.25,

"I want them to realise people actually think about them because you're just bragging about stuff. I want them to feel happy someone cares about them," Ryan added.
