News24xx.com - The US women's national team thrashed Thailand 13-0 in the 2019 women's World Cup match. The goals they scored on the match appeared to be a world record. At Stade Auguste Delaune, Reims, France, on Tuesday, June 11th 2019, US defeats Thailand. Alex Morgan and team won by scoring more than a dozen goals.

BBC noted, the Uncle Sam's country dominated possession reaching 73% and released 40 shots with 20 of them are on target, and 13 of them are succesfully converted into goals. Morgan became the star of US victory. The 29-year-old scored five goals, each of which was scored in the 12th, 53rd, 74th, 81st and 87th minutes.

And other goals were score by Rose Lavelle who scored two goals, Samantha Mewis two goals, and one goal each from Lindsey Horan, Megan Anna Rapinoe, Mallory Diane Pugh, and Carli Anne Lloyd. Noted by Opta, the score of the US victory over Thailand apparently broke the world record. The 13-0 win without reply becomes the biggest winning score on the World Cup stage, including also in the men's World Cup.

Previously, the biggest record of victory at the World Cup was created when Hungary beat South Korea 9-0 at the 1954 World Cup, Yugoslavia crushed Zaire 9-0 at the 1974 World Cup, and again Hungary against El Salvador with score of 10-1.

And for Morgan, she becomes the second player to be able to make five goals in the Women's World Cup. The first one is Michelle Akers, who is also a US player, who did it against Taiwan in 1991.
