News24xx.com - A woman can experience body changes after giving birth. But for this one woman from Austria, her body changes are quite unique because she was reported in the journal Obstetrics &Gynecology to start producing milk in her vagina after giving birth.

Obstetrician Dr. Richard Mayer from Kepler University Hospital said that the 29-year-old female patient initially came with complaints of pain in her vulva area, the outside of the vagina, after giving birth. The examination saw that there was a lot of swelling in the area.

The doctor had thought that the white fluid that came out of the swelling in the patient's vulva was pus. But the finding they got from ultrasound scans turned out to be something that no one can predict, there are similar tissues like milk-producing tissue that commonly found in the breast of women.

Quoted from Live Science on Wednesday, June 12th 2019, the woman was diagnosed with a condition of ectopic breast tissue (EBT). According to Dr. Richard this is a rare case because usually EBT is found in the armpit or areola area.

It is estimated that around 1-5 percent of women are born with EBT. According to an article in the American Journal of Roentgenology EBT can be removed surgically if it causes discomfort to the patient. In the case of the woman in the report, swelling occurred because the sutures in the vulva blocked the milk flow. The doctor pulled out the suture and the woman's complaint of pain gradually subsided.
