News24xx.com - In Britain, knife crime is increasing in numbers. According to reports, some of these crimes are done by children.

Children are being paid 1 Pound sterling (around 17 thousand Rupiah) to stab their rival teens. They make children do it so they can avoid committing the crime themselves.

Youth workers told BBC that gangland bosses do not want to get their hands dirty. That is why they continue to exploit children. They said that the kids are willing to do it to gain more money and respect from their elders.

“Young kids are getting money put on their heads,” one teen said as he revealed that his friend ended up in hospital after becoming the target of said child “assassins”.

“‘Here’s five ton [500 Pound] each—go and do it.’ And they’ll go and do it because they’ll think, if I do this, then I’ll get more money and I’ll get more respect from the elders,” he had said, reciting what senior gang members had said.

According to Merseyside Police, the knife crime rate had increased 35% there from last year.

“Has it got to that stage where it’s like going back to gladiators? The arena is the streets and we’re putting a bounty up?” said Alan Walsh, a youth worker who runs campaign Real Men Don’t Carry Knives.
