Husband ran over wife with car before divorce hearing

News24xx.com - A woman in China was run over by a car that her jilted husband drove when she tried to stop him from driving away from court before their divorce hearing.

They had been fighting at that time and as the argument got heated, the husband threatened to drive away from the building. The wife tried to stop him by standing in front of the vehicle, but he drove straight into her.

The incident was captured by a staff member in the office of the Yongnian District Civil Affairs Bureau, in Handa, northern China. The couple had showed up together to file a divorce on Friday.

The wife was brought to hospital and was not in a critical condition. The couple have requested to be allowed to settle the matter between them by themselves, but the police will still carry out their own investigation.
