News24xx.com - The condition of the inhabitants of the city who are stuck in the war in Eastern Saudi Arabia reported a growing concern.

During the last weeks of clashes between the troops and the people of Saudi Arabia in East Saudi region,Awamiya, most of its inhabitants are Muslim Sunni.

A resident told the BBC that hundreds of residents had saved themselves. But those who still endure water shortages and felt worried on getting hit if they came out of the House.

"No one get out from theirhouse. If we go out, we would be shot by snipers,"said a local activist.

It was reported that the refugees are given a lodging facility in the nearest town.
The authorities tried to destroy ancient neighborhoods in Awamiya believed to be militant hideout as the Shia in a narrow hallway.

At least seven people, including two members of the police force, were killed in the clashes, Reuters news agency report.

According to the activists, the security forces shot blindly towards houses and vehicles. The buildings were damaged or burned due to a battle.

Citizens who live in Shiite area near the town of Qatif have long complained that they are marginalized and discriminated against by the Sunni rulers.

Saudi Arabia's efforts to destroy the neighborhoods of al-400 year-old Masora in Awamiya already condemned by the United Nations on last May because of threatening legacy of history and culture.

The ancient settlement was occupied around 2,000 to 3,000 people.
