News24xx.com - A study predicts that in the 2030 robots could have taken over 20 million human jobs in manufacturing. As reported by CNBC.com, this is the result of a study conducted by Oxford Economics, a private research and consultation firm based in the United Kingdom.

The study analyses long-term trends regarding automation in the work environment. Mentioned, the number of uses of robots globally in the last two decades has tripled to 2.25 million. Oxford Economics predicts that in the next 11 years, in 2030, there will be 14 million robots employed in China alone.

The researchers also predict that the use of robots will provide benefits in the context of productivity and economic growth. But there will also be other problems that arise. "As a result of robotization, 20 millions of people will lose their jobs, specifically the local economy which still relies on workers with low skills. This will lead to the increase in income inequality."

Referring to the same study, France24.com also mentioned that the increasing use of robots would make the remaining jobs later spread unevenly not only on a global scale, but in one country. Robots themselves are said to have occupied millions of positions in the manufacturing industry and are now starting to spread to industries that are engaged in service field. It was also driven by the development of computer vision, speech recognition technology, and machine learning.
