Young woman left paralyzed after plastic surgery operation goes wrong

News24xx.com -  Hoping to get ahead of the aging process and hide the unsightly veins around her temples, a 27-year-old woman opted for plastic surgery, ending up in a coma after the operation did not go as planned.

A disturbing report was aired on Sunday by CCTV about the colossal mistake which occurred at a plastic surgery clinic in the Guangxi capital of Nanning.

During the operation, a therapist extracted fat cells from the woman's thigh to inject back into her temple. However, some of the fat cells also entered a blood vessel headed for the woman's brain.

Afterward, the woman went into a coma and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

At the hospital, surgeons carried out four operations to remove the fat cells which have caused the left side of her body to become paralyzed and her head to swell up due to the pressure exerted on her brain. It's not clear what comes next for the young woman and her parents.

Meanwhile, it turns out that the therapist in charge of the operation was not actually qualified to perform the surgery. Police have arrested the therapist as well as the manager of the clinic as part of their investigation.

Last month, a Zhejiang woman sued a plastic surgery hospital in Jiaxing city following a horrifically botched boob job which was performed by a physician specializing in oral surgery.
