SIAK - Siak Regent Alfedri, officially opened the Siak Regency Regional Leaders Communication Forum (Forkopimda) Meeting in 2019, in the Raja Indra Pahlawan Meeting Room of the Siak Regent Office, Thursday (08/08/2019).

Alfedri said, the Forkopimda meeting was a follow-up of the 2019 National Forestry and Forestry Handling Meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta some time ago.

 
"Last Tuesday, Indonesian President Joko Widodo invited all Regional Heads and related parties, and stressed to be serious in dealing with this issue of Forest and Land Fire, especially for fire-prone areas," Alfedri said.

There are several things instructed by the President, continued Alfedri, related to handling cases of forest and land fires.

 
"Babinsa and Babinkamtibmas, are required to check directly if there will be a hotspot, so that the countermeasures can be carried out as soon as possible," explained Alfedri reiterating the direction of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

In addition, in order to prevent forest and land fires, there are a number of things that must be considered, namely patrols for fire hotspots more enhanced, maintaining peatland moisture, and protecting peatland ecosystems.

"For each district, in order to patrol the community's land, there will be fear for the community to burn their land," the Regent of Siak hoped.

 
Then, he continued, to prevent forest and land fires, the government and the community must routinely socialize the dangers of burning forests and land

"Now the perpetrators of forest and land burning intentionally, will get strict sanctions from the police", he concluded.
