News24xx.com -  The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Washington D.C. confirmed that Boeing Company management will distribute compensation for the Lion Air crash victims’ heir after a meeting with members of the carrier’s management.

Lion Air is one of the carrier's customers flying the 737 MAX 8 known to be plagued with technical issues which was found to be the major factor in the crash in Karawang and the crash involving an Ethiopia Airlines aircraft.

“We have tasked the attaché of transportation to communicate and meet the parties involved, including the lawyer appointed by Boeing Company to obtain information clarity,” said the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the United States of America Mahendra Siregar on Tuesday.

The air carrier will reportedly cash out USD50 million (roughly Rp714 billion) of short term financial aid /compensation for 346 of the victims’ heirs in the Lion Air and Ethiopian Air crashes. Each legitimate heir will roughly receive USD145,000 (Rp2.1 billion) each, which is outside of the ongoing litigations.

Two alternatives for heirs to receive their compensation has been made available; through direct handover from Boeing appointed lawyers, Kenneth Feinberg dan Camille Biros, or through a lawyer that is appointed by the victims’ heir.
