The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) invite UAS to clarification today about his preaching

News24xx.com -    Regarding to preaching of Ustaz Abdul Somad's (UAS) about the Christian cross that went viral on social media, makes the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) took an important step.

MUI finally invited UAS to clarification, in accordance with the results of the decision of the MUI meeting on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

"We want to ask some information from him to find out in detail about the chronology of the problem,  then we need to meet with the him first and God willing (Insya Allah) he is ready to meet with us today at the MUI Office in the afternoon," said the Deputy Chairman General of MUI Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi in his statement on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

MUI emphasized that Zainut wanted to be a mediator in solving this case and hoped that this problem would be resolved.

"For this matter, the MUI appealed to all parties to be patient, to calm down, not be provoked and be provoked by those who deliberately wanted to create unrest in the community by pitting sheep against religious believers," said Zainut.

As information, the video of UAS which discusses about the Christian cross circulating on social media went viral.

But, UAS has clarified and said that the preach was held in a closed internal forum. He also mentioned the location was in Pekanbaru, Riau. UAS said the preach was conducted about three years ago.
 
He claimed to be surprised that his preach video which answered the congregation's questions about the cross became viral. 

For that video, several parties was reported UAS to the police. 

At least, there are four parties have reported UAS, namely Horas Bangso Batak (HBB), a lecturer in a private university in Jakarta named Manotar Tampubolon, the Indonesian Christian Student Movement (GMKI), and the Presidium of People's Lawsuit (PRM).
