A member of a G25 non-governmental organization, which promotes moderation and national cohesion, said the issue is very disturbing and reflects how Islam in future time in Malaysia.

"Things like this will only create disunity among Malaysians on behalf of so-called religious practices, which shows how we have lost our minds, especially the values ??of tolerance," said Johan Arriffin, a member of the G25.

As we known, in Islam to consume the illegitimate animals such as pork is strictly prohibited. Separate of the glass at the school is believed to be based on concerns that non-Muslims will contaminate cups with non-halal elements.

But Johan denies the argument. He says the most important is the cleanliness of the cup and not by who uses it.

"You can wash it and clean it. Does not matter, it is used by a Muslim or not. Separating like that is a stupid thing that I know," he said.

The Malaysian Ministry of Education has not commented on the issue. However, the founder of Parent Action Group for Education Malaysia (PAGE), Noor Azimah Abdul Rahim said that the practice is similar to the separation of the apartheid era.

"This (apartheid) is a strong word to describe the case, and the state will head in that direction if we do not cope. Restaurants and buses are separated and these events may be the start of it. And if we do not to stop it, it will get worse and will reach the point where there will be separate restaurants and toilets for Muslims and non-Muslims, " she said
