Riau Santri Festival In October 2019, PWNU Holds a Healthy Walk with 10,000 People

News24xx.com - The Regional Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) of Riau, will hold a big event at Bumi Lancang Kuning titled 'Riau Santri Festival' in October 2019.

In the grand event planned to be attended, the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi-Maaruf, the Riau PWNU will schedule two activities that will be included in the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI).

"To coincide with Santri Day on October 22, 2019, we will hold the Riau Santri Festival," said Riau PWNU Chairman, Tengku Rusli Ahmad accompanied by Deputy Secretary of Riau PWNU, Supriadi, Thursday, August 22, 2019.

"There are many activities we have to do, dai competitions, speeches, hijab pairs, quran hafidz, drum bands, calligraphy and many other activities," he continued.

In addition, his party also plans to propose two meetings at the same time, namely making the longest calligraphy stretching along Jalan Diponegoro, Pekanbaru.

"The activity that will enter MURI, which is the Healthy Walking Roads which will be followed by 10,000 people. There we will also distribute the Koran and free sarong for all participants who participated," he added.

For the Healthy Walk Holed Activity, Rusli Ahmad continued, which was accepted to be held in August 2019, but due to a request from the PBNU Chairman, Said Aqil Siradj the activity was postponed and held on 27 October 2019.

"This postponement is a suggestion from the PBNU General Guidance. The reason is that the Healthy Walk of the Holed, the steps are, this activity is carried out to coincide with the day of the santri on October 22, 2019," he said.

"So, specifically for healthy walking glovers held on October 27, 2019. Because of the length, we also made various competitions. For Healthy Walks Holed is a complete gift of 5 umrah," he said.

Until now, there have been 2,000 sarongs in PWNU Riau for this activity, given by the Riau Police Chief Dirkrimsus, Police Commander Gidion Arif Setyawan, and the Indonesian Scavenger Association, each with 1,000 sarong.

"From this activity, we grounded that if NU always used the language as a kiai sarong, then NU would be more famous with Ahlussunnah Wal Jamaah," he concluded.
