Thousands of Riau University Students and Abdurab Students held a demonstration in front of Riau Regional Police Headquarters, Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

The arrival of the action period related to forest and land fires (Karhutla) which caused thick smog that increasingly worsened Riau province.

During the action, students clashed with the police. In fact, the police also had issued two tear gas shots water canon shots.

Not only that, at the time of the action the students also had time to run around and destroy the park median fence in front of the Riau Police in order to get out of the crowd.

In connection with the demonstration, students assessed that the Riau Regional Police Chief Widodo Eko Prihastopo was slow in resolving the current forest and land fire cases. And during the students said the Regional Police Chief was incompetent in managing the forest and land fires that occurred in Riau.

In their speech, the students asked the Riau Police Chief to resign, because they could not solve the problems that were now the central government's attention.
