Reject Anies Baswedan's Assistance, In fact Riau Provincial Government Has not Communicated With DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Yet

The good intentions of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, who sent 65 Integrated Task Force Taskforce for Forest and Land Fire Disaster (Karhutla) to areas affected by the forest and land fires that caused extremely heavy smoke, were actually rejected by the Riau Provincial Government.

When confirmed further to the Deputy Governor of Riau, Edy Natar Nasution regarding this matter, apparently there was no direct communication from the Riau Provincial Government to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

"We don't have formal information. We say we don't need it," he told Riau24.com, Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

"I don't think we need help from them. We still have enough help, the proof is that we added personnel too," he added.

He expressed his gratitude for the attention given by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. "In the meantime we say to the DKI Regional Government that we don't need it. Even if we need help, not to them but to the community," he said.

As reported earlier, quoting from Anies Baswedan's Instagram account, the DKI Provincial Government sent the first team consisting of 65 officers from the Fire and Rescue Service by 25 people, the Health Service by 10 people, the BPBD by 5 people, the Social Service by 10 people, the Social Service team by 10 people. 10 Jakarta volunteers as well as 5 support teams.

"The whole team of the first wave will be focused on overcoming it to the Riau area, and later if needed it will follow the next wave team to other areas depending on the needs of forest and land fire prevention," said Anies.
