News24xx.com - Financial assistance (Bamkeu) from the Riau Provincial Government (Pemprov) which will be provided for the development of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) is considered as a trigger for the village government to immediately form the BUMDes.

Head of the Meranti Islands Village Community Empowerment Service (DPMD) through the Secretary, Edi M Mur acknowledged this. The amount of the budget that will be 'poured out' to the village is considered to be an encouragement for the village government to develop the village economy through the BUMDes.

"They (the village government) already know this, so we only need to carry out the execution. Previously, we also held a discussion forum to the sub-districts, and they were enthusiastic. Hopefully it will run well." Said Eddie.

To note, previously, the Riau Provincial Government in the 2019 Amended Regional Revenue Budget (APBD-P) allocated a financial assistance budget for villages totaling Rp318 billion.

The funds will be distributed to all villages in Riau and used for the development of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). Where each village will receive a fresh fund of Rp. 200 million.

Head of Section Head of Village Economic Business Development and Capital, PMD Meranti Office Jun Isnaidi said, it was estimated that with the allocation of these funds, it was estimated that the growth of BUMDes in Meranti would increase by 70 to 80 percent.

"If we see from the activities in the discussion forum some time ago, it looks like there will be an increase in new BUMDes around 70 to 80 percent. Because indeed the public is enthusiastic about hearing the amount of the fund," said Jun.

However, Jun said, the greater the budget, the more vulnerable the opportunities for fraud. Therefore, he said, his party would continue to conduct supervision and assistance so that everything went according to regulations and technical guidelines.

"This is also our responsibility to conduct surveillance so as to avoid budget misappropriation. Some villages do want to create opportunities and raise village potential, but don't get it wrong or even get off track," he said.
