News24xx.com -The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi said, the government is open to foreign investment in all infrastructure projects in Indonesia. That was a direct message from President Joko Widodo.

"The president said, give foreign private sector opportunities to invest in the transportation sector, building infrastructure with so much," Budi said in the PPP sound market project at the BKPM office, Jakarta, Monday, October 7, 2019.

He said, the Government and Business Entity (PPP) scheme is a must, in addition to the State Budget (APBN) which has been a stimulus for Indonesia's infrastructure development.

Budi also revealed that the government is currently finalizing the PPP process for the Komodo Airport project, Labuan Bajo. He revealed, the winner of the PPP project auction was a local private consortium and a foreign private sector.

The PPP project, continued Budi, had been initiated by the Ministry of Transportation through the Makassar Pare-Pare Railway project. For maintenance and operators, this transportation facility was also won by the private sector.

In addition, in the market sounding of the Singkawang Airport PPP project in West Kalimantan, Budi emphasized that there were quite a lot of potential investors from abroad, because the Diaspora from Singkawang is also quite large.
