News24xx.com - Unfortunately, two Iraqi youth bodies were found stranded on the north coast of France on Monday (14 October 2019). They allegedly wanted to try to reach mainland England.

On Monday morning, a pedestrian saw the body of a 17-year-old Iraqi Kurdish young man on a beach in Le Touquet, about 70 kilometers south of the port of Calais.

The place is a gathering point for immigrants to go by truck or ferry to England.

A few hours later, another pedestrian saw the body of another Iraqi man, 22 years old, on the same beach.

This is the first time that two immigrants have been found dead on the same day on the north coast of France.

Police found two oars inside the rubber boat, and a fuel canister and a float nearby.

A similar boat was found about 450 meters from the scene but it is unclear whether the two are related.

Over the past year, more and more immigrants from Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia sailed dangerous waters in the Strait in rubber boats.

On Monday, eight immigrants were intercepted on a beach near Calais and taken to a shelter.

Maritime authorities in northern France said 1,473 immigrants were trying to reach the British coast by sea between January and August this year, far different from the total of 586 during 2018.
