The Pekanbaru Station's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) ensured that the thin smoke that enveloped the city of Pekanbaru this morning did not originate from the remnants of forest and land fires (karhutla).

This statement was delivered by Head of Data and Information BMKG Pekanbaru Marzuki Station via telephone, Thursday, November 7, 2019.

"This is not smog. Again, this is not smog," he stressed.

According to him the thin smoke that began early this morning was water particles floating above the surface of the air due to cooling in the early hours of the morning.

Will disappear when the heat of the sun starts to rise between 7.00-8.00 WIB.

"So, until the sun shines because there is solar radiation, then the particle will be lifted up," he explained.

This condition can occur in other parts of Riau, considering the similarity of characters between Pekanbaru and other districts and cities.
