UIR will Open a Doctoral Program of Law, Evaluator Team Makes Field Visit

Pekanbaru - The desire of the Riau Islamic University to have a Law Doctoral Program will soon be realized. UIR Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Syafrinaldi, SH, MCL said, as the oldest university in the Higher Education Service Institution Region X, UIR had fulfilled the requirements for opening S3.

"We have been waiting for this program for a long time. Our resources are sufficient and the facilities available are very adequate both lecture rooms and other facilities, '' said the Chancellor to the Director of Higher Education Institutional Development Dr. Ir Ridwan, MSc and Evaluation Team who came to UIR, Friday morning (8/11 2019) .

The Evaluation Team is in charge of conducting visitations on the documents that have been prepared by UIR for S3. They consist of Prof. Dr. Ir. Lili Warly, M. Agr, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akib, S.H., M.Hum, Prof. Dr. Joni Emirzon, S.H., M.Hum, FCBArb and assisted by two secretarial officers, namely Sefryan Daru Sasongko and Agung Suranto.

The Chancellor welcomed the arrival of the team. He hoped that the desire of Riau Islamic University to open a doctoral program was truly realized. He explained that the development of UIR continued to improve from year to year. At present, said the Chancellor, UIR has 12 professors, four of whom will have a PhD in S3. UIR also has 42 study programs spread across nine faculties and postgraduates.

He also alluded to UIR's plans to follow international accreditation by the ASIC Institute based in London. According to the Chancellor, 18 of 42 study programs have been registered with ASIC. '' On 18 November, CE ASIC came to UIR to accredit study programs. We ask for your support so that this accreditation goes according to plan and the 18 study programs really get international recognition. If this activity is successful, UIR is the first university in Sumatra which has the most international accreditation, '' said the Chancellor.

After giving his speech, the Evaluator Team led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akib, S.H said a number of things related to the requirements of opening a Doctor of Law. Then asked the Riau Islamic University Team to present the prepared documents. The presentation was delivered by the Head of S3 Study Program Prof. Dr. Hj Ellydar Chaidir, SH, MHum.

After Friday, the Evaluator Team continued the visitation activities by visiting the postgraduate building at the Riau Islamic University. Accompanied by YLPI Riau General Chair Dr. Nurman, Chancellor Syafrinaldi, Deputy Chancellors and Postgraduate Director Dr. Saipul Bahri, the team reviewed all available rooms. Starting from the lecture room to the library. The team closed the visitation by submitting a field visitation file to the Chancellor of Syafrinaldi.
