'In Chile they tortured, raped, and killed', a Bare -Chested Singer, Taking Action in the Chile Riots

News24xx.com - A shirtless Chilean singer protested against what was happening in her country.

In the midst of a demonstration that has lasted for almost a month and culminated in the announcement of the constitutional referendum, Mon Laferte was bare-chested while walking on the red carpet during the Latin Grammy award ceremony in Las Vegas, United States.

In her chest is written, "In Chile, they tortured, raped and killed," during the program on Thursday (14 Nov).

The demonstration in Chile lasted for almost a month after rising train fare. Community action then developed into anti-government demonstrations.

Mon Laferte herself received an award for his alternative album. While receiving the award she read a poem from the Chilean writer La Chinganera, entitled, "Chile, your suffering hurts me."

She is one of several artists in the Latin Grammy award that elevates the political climate in Latin American countries.

Demonstrators demanded more social reform and constitutional changes made before the democracy, under the leadership of the military, Augusto Pinochet.

The referendum will be held in April next year, an opportunity for citizens to make a choice whether they want the constitution changed or not.

At least 20 people have died and around 1,000 injured in the demonstration.
