Mysterious; a Citizen Disappears While Taking Water in the Noelmina River, Allegedly Victims Was Drowned or Catched by a Crocodile

News24xx.com - Batseba Talan (40), a resident of Bena Village, South Amanuban District, Wednesday (20 November 2019) morning, was disappeared after permitting to taking water on the river Noelmina.

Two other jerry cans were seen floating above the surface of the water but the whereabouts of the victim were unknown.

There is an allegation that the victim fell into a river mouth while trying to fetch water at the river edge and washed away by the river flow.

Another allegation, the victim was attacked by a crocodile when she was about to take water in the river Noelmina.

South Amanuban Sub-District Head, Jhon Asbanu confirmed the information on the disappearance of the victim when she went to take water at the mouth of the Noelmina river.

At present, with the community and members of the Koramil while conducting a search.

Some residents who can swim have tried to enter the Noelmina river to look for the victims.

Jhon explained, around 06.00 am, the victim left her house to take water in the river Noelmina.

The distance of the victim's house to the Noelmina river estuary itself is about 300 meters. The victim is known to go fetching water by herself.

After a few hours, the victim did not go home, the victim's husband asked her child to go after the victim to the river mouth.

Arriving at the mouth of the river, the victim's child only found jerrycan on the edge of the river Noelmina and two of them floated on the surface of the water.

Jhon admitted that he had coordinated with BKSDA regarding the possibility of victims being attacked by crocodiles.

If by the afternoon the victim has not been found, a traditional ritual will be held to disburse the victim.

"There is a plan if she is not found until the afternoon we want the title of traditional rituals," concluded Jhon.
