Member of Kuansing Parliament Fedrios Asks the Head of Sub-district and Village Immediately Give Aid to Flood Victims

KUANSING- Flood disaster that struck Muara Lembu Village, Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. It caused around 80 houses to be submerged, because of the heavy rain that occurred on Sunday (1/12) night.

Although there are no fatalities, dozens of houses are submerged to the thigh limit of adults, hoping for help from both the private sector and the government. So as to help alleviate residents whose houses are affected by flooding, he and the Singingi Sector Police officers immediately went straight to the field, to directly observe and distribute aid.

"We are providing assistance in the form of packaged rice and fast food to residents whose homes have been submerged," said Chairman of the Democrat Faction of the Council of Kuansing, Fedrios Gusni when contacted by Riau24.com.

According to him, his party also contacted the Social Service for Community and Village Empowerment (DSPMD), Singingi Sub-District Head to be able to help residents whose houses were affected by the flood. "We hope that they (the residents) can be helped, and return to their homes to be able to carry out their activities," he said.

Asked about the condition of residents affected by the flood yesterday, Fedrios said they had returned to their respective homes, and the Singingi River water had receded. "In fact, I have also called the Napisman Head of Social Office and Reza Kadis Health Office, we are told to go down to see the residents' condition, but their cellphones hadnot been pick up," he said irritably.

Likewise the subdistrict head and village, have also been told to do data collection, how many houses affected by flooding, but again there has been no reply.

But when this was confirmed to the Acting Head of the Social Empowerment and Village Empowerment Office (DSPMD), Nafisman, MSi said that the number of families affected by the flood, due to the overflow of Singingi River was around 73 families.

To ease the burden on residents, the Kuansing Regency Government through the DSPMD Office has distributed assistance through the Muara Lembu Village Head. "We submit assistance to the Muara Lembu Village Chief, on last Monday, 2 Dec 2019, through the Head of Social Affairs," he said.

While the assistance consists of:

- 5 kg of rice per family.

- Instant Noodles 10 bks per KK.

- cooking oil 1 liter per KK.

- mattress 1 lbr per KK.

- blanket 1 lb per KK.
