The Price of LPG 3 Kg Soars High in Pekanbaru, Pertamina Reasoning Distribution Is Constrained by Traffic Congestion in Duri

News24xx.com - Commission II of the City Council of the Regional Representatives (DPRD) of Pekanbaru City held a hearing (hearing) with the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) Pekanbaru and Pertamina, Thursday (5/12/2019). The hearing was a follow-up to the reports of the public that came in.

The Chairperson of the Commission 2 of the Pekanbaru City DPRD, Fathullah, said that the hearing was held to follow up on the reports of the public. At present, 3 kg LPG gas is scarce.

"Because it is scarce, the selling price is between Rp 50,000 and Rp 60 thousand. The price of the expensive 3 kg LPG cylinder will be able to be purchased by the poor," he said.

It is hoped that Pertamina together with Disperindag Pekanbaru City will increase supervision over the distribution of 3 kilograms of gas. Pertamina was asked to provide LPG stock in Pekanbaru.

"Pertamina argues that scarcity occurs because of traffic jams in Duri," he said.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Riau Retail Sales Manager Hendri Eko agreed to increase LPG stock for the Pekanbaru and surrounding areas. According to him, the scarcity occurred due to lack of supervision of the distribution of 3 kg LPG gas that was not on target.

Responding to this, the Head of the Industry and Trade Office, Ingot Ahmad Hutasuhut admitted that the distribution of 3 kg LPG gas was not optimal at this time. If there is firmness from Pertamina, then the Pekabaru City Government will prepare regulations.

"That way, the distribution of 3 kg LPG gas in accordance with its designation," he said.
