BMKG Asks Residents Beware of Heavy Rain Accompanied by Lightning and Strong Winds in Some Areas of Riau

News24xx.com - The rainy season seems to continue almost comprehensively in Riau Province. This is because the potential for rain from mild to heavy intensity still has the potential to occur in some areas.

Prakirawan Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Pekanbaru Gita Dewi Siregar, Friday (6/12/2019), said the rainy season in Riau is predicted to last until January 2020. Light to heavy rain is likely to occur in the afternoon until night.

"The potential for moderate to heavy rainfall that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds occurs in parts of Rohul Regency and Kampar Regency," explained another BMKG pilot, Marzuki.
 
Whereas at night the potential for rain with mild to moderate intensity occurs in the regions of Kampar Regency, Rokan Hulu, Rokan Hilir Regency, Bengkalis Regency, Indragiri Hilir Regency, and Dumai City.

"Rain alert with heavy intensity that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds occurs in the region of Kampar Regency, Rokan Hulu Regency, Rokan Hilir Regency, Indragiri Hulu Regency, and Indragiri Hilir Regency in the afternoon or evening and at night or early morning," he explained.
