Thousands of penis fish found stranded on the beach Drakes Beach, California.

This sea of ??fish-penises was first seen by biologist Ivan Parr on December 6 after a storm hit the area.

"The same phenomenon has been reported for years at Pajaro Dunes, Moss Landing, Bodega Bay and the Port of Princeton," wrote Parr for Bay Nature.

This unique fish is also known as a fat innkeep worm, an expert believes a recent storm forced these worms out of their nests which are located under water.

This 10-inch sea creature looks like a 'pink sausage' and creates a U-shaped burrow in the mud or sand they inhabit.

They eat bacteria, plankton, and other small particles, which are captured using the 'slime net' they produce.

The innkeeper's worm makes a U-shaped hole as their temporary home, which is then used by other creatures - hence the name 'innkeeper'.

Their funnel-like burrows allow them to easily capture food.

Experts have found evidence of these creatures in history, because there was a U-shaped hole that originated from 300 million years ago.

However, because of their size and soft body, they have many threats including beavers, sharks and human gulls - but experts say they are harmless and passive creatures.

They are found in rare places in the US, but South Korea, Japan and China.

People who have eaten this worm say that the taste of the worm is chewy, salty and very sweet.

As a food, this worm is often served with a savory sauce made from sesame oil and salt or a spicier sauce consisting of vinegar and gochujang.

In addition, there are also those who serve this fish by baking it, a skewer with salt, pepper, and sesame oil.
