PEKANBARU - Two power plants were built around the Tenayan Industrial Estate (KIT). The investment value of these two power plants reaches IDR 7 trillion.

Although it has not been officially announced yet, this KIT has been included in the 2019-2020 National Mid-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

In the RPJMN, President Joko Widodo has established 14 national strategic industrial estates on the island of Sumatra and 13 outside the island of Sumatra. Of the 14 locations on the island of Sumatra, two of them are in Riau Province, namely Tenayan Raya (Pekanbaru City) and Buton (Siak Regency).

"Therefore, we have anticipated the Pekanbaru Regional Leaders Communication Forum (Forkopimda) meeting when it will begin a coordination meeting in November 2019 in Bogor. Today, we are following up on the meeting," Firdaus said.

Therefore, the government Pekanbaru together with Forkopimda are proactive in securing national policies. Keep in mind, KIT, which is a national strategic industrial area, already has two power plants.
