The Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory is the only laboratory in China designed to study the most dangerous pathogens in the world such as SARS and Ebola.

The laboratory has been built in Wuhan since 2017.

By 2018, it seems that Maryland United States biosafety experts and scientists once said that the virus could have escaped the laboratory.

The US scientists were worried because, in 2004, the SARS virus leaked from a Beijing laboratory.

Wuhan National Biological Safety Laboratory is 20 miles away from the Huanan Seafood Market.
