News24xx.com - An attack occurred again. A rocket hit the headquarters of US forces in Kirkuk, in the interior of Iraq on Thursday (2/14) evening local time.

Reported by AFP, three separate sources said the Katyusha rocket hit an open area at the K1 base around 8:45 pm local time.

In addition to US troops, the base is also a base for Iraqi federal police forces.
 
Iraq's official military statement said there were no casualties and injuries from the attack.

Security forces reported finding a runway five kilometers from the military headquarters. The runway is thought to be used to fire rockets.

At that location found 11 intact rockets that had not been fired, but the perpetrators had fled.

As reported by CNN Indonesia on Friday morning, Washington blamed the Iraqi armed militant faction, Kateeb Hezbollah for the attack.

The attack was allegedly a retaliatory action that killed 25 Hezbollah fighters in the December 29 attack.

Earlier, a rocket attack struck the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq on January 26 last.

Security sources told AFP, of the five rockets launched, three of them hit the target.

One rocket reportedly hit the cafeteria during dinner time.

A senior Iraqi official reported that one person was injured in the attack.

But the identity of the victim was not known, whether US citizens or Iraqi staff members worked on the mission.
