Pekanbaru Citizens Are Prohibited From Establishing PJU Without Transportation Agency License

News24xx.com - Pekanbaru residents are prohibited from establishing public street lighting (PJU) without the permission of the Transportation Agency (Dishub). This is to prevent the emergence of illegal bills from PLN.

Pekanbaru Transportation Agency Head Yuliarso, Thursday (2/20/2020), said that the community must obtain permission from the Pekanbaru City Government, in this case the Transportation Agency, to establish a PJU. This has also been agreed with PLN.

"If there is a community begging to establish a PJU, it must be a recommendation from the Transportation Agency. Because, the PJU bill was paid by the Pekanbaru City Government," he said.

Please note, PJUs established by the community are deemed inappropriate. Installation of street lights without procedures is very dangerous.

"There are those who set up streetlights at close range and nonstandard lights. Because there are still people who install streetlights at will," Yuliarso explained.

Even so, if there are residents who submit applications to establish Dishub still served. For the establishment of a new PJU, it must go through the head of the RT or RW or directly concerned to install street lights in the neighborhood and on public roads.

"So that there is standardization so that it is useful for those who enjoy it," Yuliarso said.
