Minister of PUPR: Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Operates During Lebaran Mudik 2020Minister of PUPR: Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Operates During Lebaran Mudik 2020

News24xx.com - This is good news for the people of Pekanbaru, Riau and surrounding areas. The Pekanbaru-Dumai (Permai) toll road construction is projected to be completed and opened in April 2020.

The first toll road on Bumi Lancang Kuning that connects the capital city of Riau Province with the City of the Port of Dumai is ready to operate serving travelers on Eid 2020.

The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, when reviewing the project, praised the quality of the Permai toll road, which was carried out by PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur, a subsidiary of BUMN Hutama Karya as the national strategic project implementing contractor.

"The quality of IPR work on the toll road is good. I am sure, the results of the IRI (international roughness index) test are below 2. At this rate, God willing, April can be (opened)," he said, as quoted by Antara, Friday (21/2).

The IRI test is a parameter that measures the level of road flatness. Flatness is one of the things measured to meet the minimum toll road service standards according to the rules, namely the minimum IRI test score must be less or equal to 4 m / km.

Secretary of PT Hutama Karya (Persero) M Fauzan explained that he tried to complete the Permai toll road construction on time and quality.

Thus, the construction of the 131 km toll road can be completed before Lebaran 2020 homecoming.

"The Permai toll road began construction in 2017 and we will finish it soon. The construction can be said to be fast. Until February 19, 2020, the Permai toll road construction has reached 90 percent with the progress of land acquisition 99.78 percent," he added, as reported by CNN Indonesia, Friday.

HKI Managing Director Aji Prasetyanti said that the Permai toll road has a unique feature because there are six tunnels (underpasses) for crossing elephant herds.

The first crossing is on the Tekuana River, which is located adjacent to the Permai toll road section 2 (Minas-Kandis Selatan) and the Minas Elephant Training Center in Siak Regency.

While the other five crossings are on the toll road section 4 (Kandis Utara-Duri Selatan), close to Balai Raja Wildlife Reserve.

"Besides having an underpass for elephants, the construction of the Permai toll road also has other challenges because at some points there are intersections with oil and gas pipelines, as well as the electricity network owned by PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia. Thank God, even so, everything can go smoothly," he said.

Based on HK data, for the construction of Section 1 Pekanbaru-Minas along 9.5 kilometers (Km), the construction progress is 100 percent. The progress of land acquisition has been 100 percent.

Section 2 of Minas-Kandis Selatan is 24.10 km long, construction progress is 89.83 percent, while the progress of land acquisition is 99.83 percent.

Section 3 South Kandis-North Kandis is 16.95 km in length, construction progress is 83.72 percent, while the progress of land acquisition is 98.52 percent.

Section 4 Kandis Utara-Duri Selatan is 26.5 km long, construction progress is 88.77 percent and land acquisition progress is 100 percent.
