President Jokowi Release Three containers Fibers Rayon Production PT APR for Sent to Central Java and Turkey

News24xx.com - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the largest and integrated viscose rayon production facility in Indonesia to boost the national textile sector and industrial development strategy 4.0. The new facility owned by PT Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) is in the same location as the APRIL Group complex in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau Province, Sumatra.

With a total investment of IDR 15 trillion (USD 1.1 billion), this adjacent location allows integrated operations. Where, the supply of pulp (pulp) from APRIL Group's renewable industrial plantations can supply directly to APR for the production of viscose rayon (artificial silk). APR can produce 240,000 tons of rayon fiber per year.

The official opening of the APR was marked by the signing of the factory inscription and the release of containers containing rayon fiber by President Jokowi. Rayon fiber is exported to Turkey as much as 10,190 tons. While the shipment of rayon fiber to Central Java was 12,000 tons.

In the inauguration, President Joko Widodo appreciated APR's investment in supporting the development of the national textile industry. The role of the private sector is very influential in driving economic growth, in addition to the stimulus provided by the government.

"Don't let our garment industry lose to Vietnam. We already have our own raw materials now here (viscose rayon APR). A fast country will defeat the slow one and we want to become a fast country," he said.

Also present at the inauguration were Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Riau Province Governor Syamsuar, RGE Chairman and Founder Sukanto Tanoto, and RGE Director Anderson Tanoto.
