News24xx.com - Terrible, hundreds of students at Turi 1 Public Middle School, Sleman became victims of being washed away while holding a riverbank on the Sempor River, Hamlet Donokerto Turi, Sleman, Friday afternoon, February 21, 2020.

Of the approximately 256 students who took part in the activity, seven students were successfully evacuated by the combined SAR officer. The evacuation took place from around 03.00 pm to 05.30 pm Indonesian West Time.

Mas'ud Rofiqi, Supervisor of the Disaster Control and Operations Center (Pusdalops) of the Yogyakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said that the BPPBD could not ascertain the total number of student victims who have swept away in the activity and were still sought by officers. "What is clear is that there is no time limit for the search for victims, we still continue along the river especially now that the conditions are going dark," he said.

While five other people are reportedly still in search of a joint team.

Of the 6 victims killed, two of them are still identified.

3. Nur Aizah (class 8), the address of Kembangarum

From the information gathered, the river fringing activity was carried out when the current there was not yet heavy. However, when the children started the activity, the river suddenly flooded and the students were swept away by the current.
