News24xx.com - A man who is a heavy user of cannabis is hospitalized twice within 24 hours after he has an erection 12 hours. After getting treatment, the man also experienced an erection for 6 hours.

Reporting from Insider, the doctors who handled the case explained that cannabis consumed by patients can be a major factor behind the painful erection or also known as priapism.

Priapism is a condition, which is usually caused by genetics or drugs that lead to painful erections. Erections that occur for so long, that can cause a lot of damage to the penis tissue if not treated properly.

On the other hand, according to a famous urologist, Dr. Jamin Brahmbhatt, even though marijuana will cause blood vessels to expand. However, there is no research that links it to priapism. So, according to Jamin, the cause of bitter priapism was not due to cannabis.

However, the doctors still advised the man to stay away from marijuana for a while in order to stop an unwanted erection that can definitely damage his penis.
