Claims the Scarcity of goods, Onion Prices at Belantik Siak Market are Increasingly Soar

SIAK - Arguing the scarcity of goods, the prices of a number of basic necessities in Belantik Market in Siak Regency, have increased quite sharply, like a number of items such as garlic, onion and cayenne pepper increased by almost one hundred percent.

As is known the price of garlic a week ago was still IDR. 38,000 per kilo, and now it has reached IDR. 60,000 per kilo, whereas for onions which were originally IDR. 28,000 per kilo now has reached the price of IDR. 40,000 per kilo, and so is the price of cayenne from IDR. 32,000 has now risen to IDR 50,000 per kilo.

Regarding the increase in the price of onions, when asked to the sword, the reason is that the price increase is due to the scarcity of goods, especially for Siak merchandise still relying on stocks from outside areas.

"The goods do not exist, so inevitably the price rises," said Wanto, one of the traders in the Blantik Siak market, on Monday (02/24/2020).

In addition, the garlic trader at the Blak Market in Siak Regency also admitted that the price increase had an impact on the decrease in the number of buyers.

As experienced by one of the traders at the Balakik Siak Susi market (32). He said, the price of garlic began to creep up less than last week.

It was initially priced at IDR 38,000 per kilogram, then increased to IDR 52,000 per kilogram, and now it is IDR 60,000 per kilogram. "This drastic price increase occurred quickly," Susi said.

Susi admitted that many consumers complained and protested the increase in the price of garlic to her. The most impactful, consumers were reduced and income per day  is affected by this. (R24 / Lin)
