News24xx.com - The Ministry of Trade (Ministry of Trade) will summon white crystal sugar (GKP) or consumption sugar producers who import raw sugar this afternoon.

The Ministry of Trade's Director General of Domestic Trade, Suhanto, said he would ask the importers to release the stock of sugar that still exists today at a reference price.

In addition, he will also follow up on raw sugar import permits that have been given to entrepreneurs, which is 438,802 tons. It is hoped that the Ministry of Trade will obtain when the raw sugar is processed into GKP and ready to be distributed to the market.

Suhanto also wanted to emphasize those producers were committed to selling prices according to the reference.

However, the targets, within the next 2 weeks the supply of GKP is ready to be poured into the market. The reason is, some importers have completed the import process and even have started production into GKP.

For information, according to the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPSN), the price of sugar today is IDR15,650 per kg. Then, according to Jakarta Food Info, the price of translucent sugar is IDR 15,395 per kg. Meanwhile, the reference price of sugar at the consumer level regulated in Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) number 7 of 2020 is IDR12,500 per kg.
