8 PKS Pekanbaru Faction Members Contribute Salaries For Covid-19 Handling

PEKANBARU - Eight PKS Faction Members of the Pekanbaru City Council agreed to donate part of the salary to help prevent the corona virus pandemic or Covid-19.

They are Firmansyah, Hamdani, Isa lahamid, M.Sabarudi, Mulyadi, Yasser Hamidi, Rois, and Kartini.

H. Firmansyah LC, Chair of the PKS Faction conveyed that the donation would later be used to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel, disinfectant fluids, masks, hand sanitizers, supplements and food to be given to the public.

"This is a small endeavor of the PKS Faction. Maybe the number is not much, because no less important is the discipline of the community to follow the government's appeal so that the spread of corona can be suppressed or stopped," said Firmansyah, Monday (3/30/2020).

Firmansyah reminded, to succeed the corona virus prevention action also requires the active role of the community in carrying out social distancing and physical distancing according to government instructions.

"We urge the public not to form a crowd and to work and study at home," he said.

According to Firmansyah, all assistance in the form of goods and programs will be distributed directly through PKS cadres to the public and medical personnel in need.

"We hope that this pandemic will end soon, certainly with the support of all parties," he said.

The Chairman of the Pekanbaru City PKS DPD, Sony Martin, STP., Welcomed the real action carried out by the PKS Faction in the Pekanbaru City Council.

"We express our great pride and appreciation for the steps of friends from the PKS Faction. This is a charity that is not only beneficial, brings rewards, but is also highly anticipated by Pekanbaru residents," Sony said.

The act of donating part of the salaries of council members is clearly a good tradition that has been continuously built by PKS. It was started by the PKS Faction in the DPR RI, which was then followed by the PKS Faction in the Riau Province Council, and now it is the PKS Faction's turn in the Pekanbaru City Council.

This action was purely an initiative of the PKS Faction. "We (the PKS DPD Structure of the City of Pekanbaru) have never given instructions regarding the act of donating these salaries.
