News24xx.com -  Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Council of Islamic Scholars (MUI), Din Syamsuddin being a speaker at two successive international meetings in Germany and the United States.


Din became a panelist at the International Conference on Paths of Peace in Münster, Germany 12 September 2017.

The annual conference that held by the Community of Sant Egidio (international organization of Catholic lay people) was attended by 600 participants from abroad among them the main figures of various world religions.


The conference which was opened by Chancellor Markel was attended by Shaykh Al-Azhar At-Tayyib, Vice-Pope Fransiscus, Greek Orthodox Leader, Risho Kosakai Buddha, and President of Nigeria. Din Syamsuddin being a speaker at the Session on "Asian Religions Facing Global Markets".


In his presentation, Din said that the era of the global free market is increasing the flow of secularization and anti-Godly materialistic orientation, religions must display a prophetic role to align the worldly life with moral and ethical values.


In the era of globalization, continued Din, who is also the President of ACRP (Organization of Asian Religious Charities) created a great opportunity, not only free trade but also a free market of religion.

 

After stopping by a day in London, the former chairman of the Muhamdiyah met with Indonesian Ambassador, Rizal Sukma to discuss the cooperation of Muhammadiyah Universities with various British universities, and then Din traveled to New York to attend the Conference on Cultural Rapproachement between the USA and the Islamic World, September 17th.


The conference, initiated by Rabithah Alam Islami (Muslim World League) was attended by 200 Muslim leaders from around the world as well as non-Muslim figures from America and some countries. From Indonesia attend Dr. Hidayat Nurwahid, Prof. Bahtiar Effendy (Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah), and Muhammad Siddiq (Chairman of the Council of Da'wah Islamiyah Indonesia).


Din Syamsuddin attended as Chairman of the MUI Advisory Council, moderated in the second session on issues of religious freedom, knowledge factors, and the agenda of cooperation between the US and the Islamic World in the field of civilization.


Shown as a speaker at this session from the Islamic group Prof. Yahya Michot from the US, Dr. Bishari from France, and Dr. Abu Halima from Algeria, and from among non-Muslims, among others, Prof. Bernardini from Italy, Prof. Dolzer from Germany, and Prof. Faulker from Austria.

Din Syamsuddin, said that the cooperation of civilization between America and the Islamic World is not only possible but must happen. Both ot them need each other.


"The Islamic world needs America as a superpower of the world, but America also requires Islam as part of a world that has great powers both human resources, natural resources, and resources, and historical resources, ie the Islamic world has emerged as the holder of supremacy civilization of the world in the medieval ages," he said.


According to Din, the first conference was held on a large scale in America, is expected to reduce Islamophobia in the community while in the United States and Europe.

Of course the conference is expected to bring resonance to world leaders who are attending the UN General Assembly in the same city at almost the same time.
