News24xx.com - Corona's funeral became a dilemma for the community. What is clear is that the tradition and rules for burial that were usually carried out changed during this pandemic.

As reported by the Associated Press, Tuesday (047 April 2020), an Iraqi, Mohammed al-Dulfi, was confused when he had to bury his father's body. The 67-year-old father died of the Corona virus. It took 9 days for the body to finally be placed in its final rest in the holy city of Shia Najaf, South Iraq.

Al-Duhfi, initially, rejected the long-distance burial plan proposed by the government. The site of the burial was originally outside of Baghdad. There, his father was not alone, there were seven other Corona victims who would be buried far away on the pretext that the Corona would not infect more people.

The family also had a quarrel with the team from the Ministry of Health. His father's body had to wait for days in the hospital morgue before he could be buried.

"We suffered a lot, knowing my father had died but we could not bury him," said the 26-year-old man.

Al-Duhfi is not the only person who is confused when he will bury his family who died due to Corona. In Middle Eastern countries, parts of South and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, funerals are also difficult. Many people weigh the impact of Corona with the religious rules and traditions they must carry out.

In countries with a majority Muslim population, religion and tradition require burial to be carried out immediately. The body must be bathed by relatives before finally buried in the grave. However, with the presence of COVID-19, the procedure is hampered. Not to mention if the country imposed a lockdown.
