News24xx.com -  The operation of infant twins in the stomach of Fahira-Sahira that held by the team of expert doctors from the Central General Hospital (RSUP) H. Adam Malik in Medan, North Sumatra, Monday, October 16, 2017, successfully to make them separated.


Secretary of Siam twin handling team, Dr Rizky Adriansyah SpA (K) said the separation operation against the female baby was conducted on Monday, October 16 2017.

The operation starting at 08.30 am, and finished at 18:45 pm. But post-operation, Sahira-Fahira has not passed the phase of critical period.


"The two of hearts have been separated, the bone of the breast that is also parted, the membrane of the heart wall, and the ribs have also been separated," said Dr. Rizky, on Tuesday 17 October 2017.


In addition to performing the separation surgery, the team of doctors also perform surgery on the leaking heart that experienced by one of the infants.

The team of doctors has closed the leaks on the heart that experienced by Sahira.


"The time of operation for Sahira is longer, finished at 18:45 pm. But for Fahira finished at 17:30 pm," said Dr. Rizky.


Sahira-Fahira is a Siamese twin baby from Kisaran, Asahan regency, North Sumatra. After undergoing surgery, both of infants are still under close by the team of doctors.


"The team of doctors is still waiting the response after the separation of Sahira-Fahira," said Dr. Rizky.

He disclosed, doctors who surgery that infants not use a tissue expander or enter the tissue under the skin of both babies. But they have been used abdominal skin.

"The team of doctors utilize and maximize the existing skin of the baby. If there is no problem, there will be no further surgery," he said.

Meanwhile, Public Relations of H Adam Malik hospital, Masahadat Ginting, said the team of doctors that involved on separation surgery of twin siam infant reached 50 people.

The team is chaired by Professor Guslihan Dasa Tjipta SpA (K), Secretary of the team doctor, Dr. Rizky Adriansyah SpA (K), dr Erjan Fikri SpBA, and other doctors.
