News24xx.com -  President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, asked Congress to additional funds amounting to IDR 79.5 trillion for the military.

It was done in the middle of his trip to Asia that aims to fight what he called a threat of North Korea.

Requests to add their budget came when Trump left Japan to South Korea, where the United States has begun installing an anti-missile defense system known as THAAD.

Trump's request includes IDR 53.9 trillion for the Korean missile defense and detection system, IDR 16.1 trillion to fund its request for 3,500 US troops in Afghanistan, and IDR 9.4 trillion to repair two Navy vessels as quoted from the USA Today, Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

The request for additional funding for the missile came three months after Trump revealed his government's proposal to cut the Missile Defense Agency budget.

"We make the best military equipment in the world," Trump told reporters at Air Force One on Sunday

The request comes after Beijing and Pyongyang have resolved their dispute over the installation of THAAD launchers in South Korea, which China says threatens its national security.

But South Korea is still reluctant to add additional THAAD installations on the peninsula.
