Neapolitan pizza being as world heritage by UNESCO

News24xx.com -  Food can also be crowned as world heritage. Official Italian Pizza gets the title of UNESCO's Unicode Cultural Heritage.

As reported from Food and Wine, on Friday December 8 2017, UNESCO officially endorse of Neapolitan pizza and deserve a World Heritage status. The move was set a week after more than 2 million Italians signed a petition.

The contents of this petition include asking for confessions stating everything about "pizzaiuoli" or pizza makers from Naples.

Also pizza making techniques from preparing, making pizza dough, filling with toppings to baking pizza with wood is an important part of the cultural and culinary traditions of Italy.

With its new title, pizza will joins with members of the new UNESCO World Heritage community. There are also windmill craft and drilling activities in the Netherlands, traditional shipbuilding in South Sulawesi Indonesia as well as traditional nsima dishes from Malawi.

While in the culinary field, pizza is recorded alongside traditional Turkish coffee, ginger cakes from Croatia, French specialties as well as traditional Mexican cuisine. This status is expected to make people more aware and care about how precious a tradition and culture.

The typical Italian Neopolitan pizza traditionally has two different versions of margherita, a pizza with tomato, mozarella, oil and basil leaves and a marinara pizza topped with tomato sauce, garlic, oregano and oil.
